Dr. Konstantinos Alevizopoulos joined Ventac Partners as a Partner in August 2007. He brings more than twelve years of corporate expertise in the identification, licensing and development of early therapeutic and diagnostic leads in the life sciences sector. While implementing key preclinical research & development strategies, Dr. Alevizopoulos has worked closely with leading academic institutions, teaching hospitals and CROs around the globe to create significant shareholder value and forward potential for investors.
Important positions in his curriculum outside Ventac Partners include: Chief Scientific Officer of Gerolymatos International SA (GR), Managing Director and Head of R & D of Medexis SA (GR), Head of Preclinical R & D of Biovista Inc. (US) and Head of R & D of Apotech Corporation (CH). Dr. Alevizopoulos consults for several biotech companies and is a founding partner and Vice President of the Hellenic Biotechnology Cluster (GR). Currently, Konstantinos serves as the Chief Executive Officer of APIM Therapeutics AS (Norway).
Dr. Alevizopoulos received his Biology degree from the University of Athens, Greece and his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He has also conducted post-doctoral studies in the Swiss Institute of Experimental Cancer Research (Switzerland) and the Schering Plough Research Institute (USA) specializing in preclinical oncology research. Dr. Alevizopoulos is trained in European Patent Law (Robert Schuman University of Strasbourg, France).
